An Endless Selection of Sign Material Combinations >

We stock a wide variety of sign materials for our mixed media and dimensional signage solutions including acrylics, wood laminates, plastics and vinyl. Some of the more common materials used in the sandblasted and CNC routed process are HDU (high density urethane) and clear grade red cedar.

High Density Urethane (HDU Sign Foam)

WARRANTY - HDU Sign Foam unfinished is warranted for 10 years, indoor or out, against deterioration, warping, and cracking. It is 100% waterproof, unaffected by temperature and will not rot or decompose. This material is preferable on most projects, and a must on large projects. If a client insists on a wood pattern, suggest the HDU sandblasted with a wood grain. For more information, please visit www.signfoam.com.

HDU Sign Foam can be blasted with several different patterns. The most common two are:

HDU wood or pebble sandblast patterns

ADVANTAGES - SignFoam will not warp, crack, or bow like solid wood when exposed to the elements. It is slightly lighter that wood, which might be a consideration for a dangling sign, and saves in shipping. SignFoam can be blasted with a Simulated Wood Grain Finish that, in most cases, looks better than a real wood grain.

DISADVANTAGES - SignFoam is slightly flexible, which might cause problems on long, narrow signs. If a dimensional sign is going between posts, or in a situation where it might take abuse from wind or pedestrians, consider having us laminate a backing for reinforcement.

Wood (Redwood and Red Cedar)

WARRANTY - There is no way to warranty a product of nature. We take great care in the assembly of our wood planks by using a combination of biscuits, dowels, and marine grade epoxy. The wood planks we use are double kiln dried, which is more expensive but better insures against bowing.

ADVANTAGES - Clear grade wood signs are solid, have a look like no other, and when installed properly will give years of use.

DISADVANTAGES - Primer seal may be broken (die- a landscaper kicking a rock from a mower), which allow outdoor elements to deteriorate the wood. It is very hard to detect such, so routine inspections are required to protect the investment. Because of the maintenance issues with wood signs, we DO NOT recommend wood for ANY exterior application. Should your project insist on being wood (local code, etc.) we can take additional steps to ensure longevity.

OTHER COMMON STOCK MATERIALS

EXPANDED PVC - Sentra, Comotex, etc. in all standard sizes, thickness, and colors.

ACRYLIC - Commonly referred to as 'Plexi-Glass'.

MDO & MDF - Common wood laminate and composite products.

METAL - Aluminum, Steel in tin laminate sheets (variety of finishes) and in plate form.

faux sign textures

FAUX 3-D TEXTURES>>>
We have developed 3-D Relief Molds that we pour and finish to order. All of our designs are produced in an interlocking tile format so that they can easily be applied to any size surface area, and even wrap around corners of dimensional forms. Our 3-D Faux Textures are most commonly used on our Sign Monument projects, but can be easily be used in a variety of other applications - such as a backdrop for an interior wall style display.
